This is me enjoying my bike ride around town hahah. I got lost, got drenched by rain, got cursed at in dutch….and I have to say..it was a fun adventure haha.

It’s my last day in Amsterdam, next stop: Cologne, Germany. Amsterdam is fun and beautiful. Wish I had people to party with at night but my hostel roommates are boring. It’s all good though..I need to save my money for Oktoberfest anyway. I enjoyed hanging out in coffeeshops though..probably the highlight of my trip haha. Here’s what I learned in Amsterdam.

1. In the 17th century, the canal water was so bad that beer was poured into the canal because it killed germs.

2. You are allowed 5 grams of weed to carry. And if you’re wondering, weed is basically the same as the US.

3. There’s an actual bike lane road that provides more safety unlike in the united states.

4. Streets are confusing..you can on “zeeburgerstraat” and somehow end up on “ramagracht” (I know those streets don’t connect..it’s the only streets that popped in my head haha).

5. Bikers will curse or whistle or say “yoohoo” if you are in the way on the bike lane. These 3 actions all happened to me haha. I got cursed at cuz I stopped and open my umbrella. The umbrella almost hit a biker. I just remember he yelled at me in Dutch :(.

6. Houses in Amsterdam stick forward in front of each other to look “bigger” than the other houses.

7. There’s nearly 2,500 biked parked on the 3-level bike parking lot.

8. Boat houses = awesome. Wouldn’t mind living in one.
