I know I’m overdue with my blog about the last city i visited in Europe i just been so busy since I got back. Anyway, this is me at exploring Medienhafen in Dusseldorf, Germany. I love modern architecture!
Dusseldorf was my last stop for my Eurotrip. I didn’t do much at this point because I was broke and the weather just sucked. Plus there wasnt much cool tours to go on. However I did explore Dusseldorf, went up the radio tower, and got in the K20 museum for free. I was excited to see the “longest bar in the world” on alstadt but I was disappointed. Also, I had no roommates in my hostel to go out with. In fact, I was alone in my room for 2 nights. But just because I was alone doesn’t mean I didn’t stop the drinking! It kind of sucked eating and drinking alone, especially at night. I felt like a loser :(. But once I got buzzed, I didn’t really care anymore haha. But anyway, here’s a few things I learned in Germany.
1. Dusseldorf is known for their beer, “Altbier”, which is only brewed nowhere else but Dusseldorf.
2. Dusseldorf and Cologne are rivalry cities. You will be hated on if you try to order a “Kolsch” in a bar.
3. The longest bar isn’t really a long table of bars. I was disappointed. It’s just an area with over 300 bars and discotechs -__-.
4. I saw few “Cocktails to-go” signs. I forgot that you can drink hard liquor in public in Germany. However, it’s not that very common. You mostly see people with beers on the street than hard liquor.
5. The “Pillar Saints” on top of advertisements throughout of Dusseldorf is a project designed by artist, . He was trying to portray the everday
6. Dusseldorf was damaged from World War II which is why there aren’t much old buildings. The only building that was left is the castle’s clock tower.
7. Dusseldorf is know for their high end fashion stores on Konigsallee also known as the “Ko”.
